Welcome to Black Forest Primary School

Welcome to Black Forest Primary School! Our school is committed to developing successful, lifelong learners. With a passion for 21st Century learning, we strive to build an engaging learning environment which meets the learning needs of every child. Through high quality, targeted and meaningful education, we are able to guide our students to achieve their greatest success. Our teachers and support staff are dedicated to meeting the individual needs of all students through quality differentiation within the classroom as well as a range of specialised intervention programs.

Established in 1919, Black Forest Primary School has a strong history and school community that encourages whole family engagement. We currently have 18 classes ranging from Reception to Year 6, with approximately 460 students. We have a strong focus on high quality teaching and learning in both Literacy and Numeracy while embedding 21st Century learning and STEM across the curriculum. During each week, our students take part in a range of specialised teaching areas including Physical Education, Science, Italian and Music. We also host a range of extracurricular activities including SAPSASA, school sports, instrumental music, choir, debating and performing arts.

Our School Garden is a wonderful asset for our school community and is one of the oldest school gardens in Australia. Students engage in regular sessions with the garden coordinator, where they can explore, play, create, learn and have fun. Students learn about planting seeds, harvesting fruits and vegetables and taking care of a garden. Black Forest Primary School also has a Nature Play focus throughout our school with places for students to explore and discover.
